The vision set out in the Draft Primary Curriculum Framework aims to describe the overarching purpose of the redeveloped curriculum—what children should learn and why, and how their learning can be best supported. The vision is the foundation that underpins and informs all components for the redeveloped curriculum. Therefore, the purpose, structure and content of a high-quality redeveloped curriculum should be in harmony with the vision which guides children’s learning and development and supports teachers’ pedagogical practice (see page 5).
