Expressions Of Interest For Senior Cycle Redevelopments

Through our close work with schools we see first-hand that schools are at the hub of change in our education system. Likewise, it’s important that schools are directly involved in the development of the curriculum at a national level.

Since March 2022, there have been over 260 engagements with schools and teachers on curriculum developments. Schools which have expressed an interest in getting involved in our work have participated in a number of ways. Some of these include:

• school visits that supported the development of background papers and briefs for subject and programme reviews 
• hosting focus groups with teachers, students and school leaders to support consultations on draft curriculum specifications
• teacher focus groups on drafts of guidelines to support additional assessment components in recently redeveloped specifications
• school network to support the development of Senior Cycle Level 1 and Level 2 learning programmes.

We are seeking expressions of interest to ensure the continued involvement of schools in our work, and particularly in the subjects in tranches 4 and 5, and also in the area of senior cycle pathways.
