Introducing the NCCA Primary Podcast

We’re excited to introduce the NCCA Primary Podcast, a space where we discuss and share ideas about the redeveloped primary school curriculum and what this means for learning, teaching and assessment in Irish primary and special schools.

Part of our work in NCCA involves us helping to translate innovative thinking and research findings about curriculum and assessment into rich, engaging and relevant experiences for children that will help them to learn and thrive. We do this by ensuring that the guidance we provide to support schools’ work with the curriculum is informed by the most up-to-date research and also by hearing lots of different voices, including teachers, principals, researchers and of course children. The NCCA Primary Podcast gives us a chance to share these voices and ideas with you.

Each episode of the podcast focuses on a key topic, such as why the curriculum is changing, how to manage change in schools, and how these changes can create better learning experiences for children. The conversations are designed to give you the opportunity to hear the perspectives of others, but most importantly to think about these ideas for yourself and encourage your own conversations with others.

We’d love to hear from you too. Maybe you want to respond to something you heard on a podcast episode or you have an idea for a future podcast topic. To get in touch, email us at podcast@ncca.ie or join the conversation on social media using #nccapod.

The NCCA Primary Podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Music and other podcast hosting sites.
