Senior cycle education is the period of education that follows junior cycle. The Leaving Certificate programme is provided through three routes:
- Leaving Certificate Established (LCE);
- Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA)
- and Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP).
Transition Year (TY) is a one-year optional programme available to all post-primary schools as a standalone programme within the senior cycle experience.
