New text lists available for Leaving Certificate English, Spanish and Italian
The new text lists for Leaving Certificate English, Spanish and Italian are now available online. The Department of Education has published these in circulars (linked below).
Text lists are generated by working groups convened by NCCA and are published by the Department of Education in circulars. These working groups comprise practicing teachers and can also have input from other specialists and experts in children’s and young adult literature. Practicing teachers bring their expertise and experience to this important work and invest significant time in reading, analysing and evaluating a large volume of texts in order to compile a list.

NCCA welcomes feedback on current text lists, and recommendations and advice about texts for consideration and inclusion in future lists. We are very grateful that teachers, students, parents, and many others take such an active interest in the texts they would like to see our young people study.
