Outdoor learning in the primary school
NCCA has developed two webinars on the topic of outdoor learning in the primary school to support primary teachers and principals. Webinar One with Ms Orla Kelly (Associate Professor, DCU) and Ms Joan Whelan (Chairperson, the Irish Forest School Association), explores possibilities for beginning to work with the curriculum in the outdoor environment. Webinar Two with Ms Jacqueline Curley (Teacher, Knocknacarra NS) and Ms Siobhán Fitzgerald (Principal, Eglish NS) features stories from schools working with the curriculum in the outdoor environment. These webinars are suited to those who would like to begin work in the area of outdoor learning as well as those who wish to further develop their practice of using the outdoors. The webinars are available to view here.
